Angels on Mission

Heb 1 v 14; Psalm 34 v 7;

Under this topic, children have studied and learnt who angels are, what they do, when and why they were created etc. Different fun facts about angels and angelic manifestations were discussed, for children's awareness.

The objectives covered under this topic are:

  1. To understand that Angels are spiritual beings created by God, they have names but no gender.
  2. To understand the two main functions of angels, which are worship and spiritual errands.
  3. To understand the difference between holy and unholy(demonic) angels.
  4. To understand how to send an Angel on mission.
  5. To understand that the Holy spirit is not an angel. The TWO have different functions.
  6. To understand that even though angels are powerful heavenly creatures, they are not to worshiped, except God Himself.

Jesus, the Light & Truth.

John 1 v 5.

John 8 v 12.

John 14 v 6

Luke 8 v 17

1 John 1 v 8 - 10

Under this topic, we taught children that truth and light are the same, spiritually speaking. They are not abstract, they are a person. This person is Jesus.

Jesus told us that He is the Light (John 8 v 12) and the Truth. (John 14 v 6). Literally, anyone who lies, tries to put others in darkness, preventing them from seeing the light about a situation. It's like when you enter into a dark room, you don't see or understand what's going on there, until the light is switched on! Similarly, when you believe a lie, you are in the dark....until the truth is revealed, and suddenly you clearly see the light in that situation and your mind is enlightened.

We also learnt that just as Truth and Light is a person (Christ), lies and darkness is also a person. he is the devil. John 8 v 44 tells us the devil is the father of liars and that lies is his native language.

Finally, we learnt the following key nuggets:

  • Light reveals lies. Lies never overcomes truth, just darkness never overpowers light
  • Anyone who tells the truth, manifests the spirit of Christ inside of them
  • Anyone who lies (habitually), manifests the spirit of devil. Such person is encouraged to repent and and allow the light of Christ to fill their heart.
  • We are saved, not by our own truth-telling, but because we follow someone who Himself is the Truth.
  • Not lying is only a moral value, Following the Truth (Christ) is real deal, and a way to heaven.

The Will of God

Jer 1 v 5.

Jer 29 v 11.

John 9 v 31b.

1 Thes 5:18.

1 Thes 4 v 3.

Under this topic, we taught children that God's Will is His resolute plan for all His creation.

God had plans for our lives, even before we were formed in mothers' wombs. God is all-knowing, and He has plans for each one of us about what to do per time and how to live a fulfilled glorious life through Him. (Jer 29 v 11; Jer 1 v 5)

God delights in those who obediently pursue His Will and pray for it to become a reality in their lives. God hears those who pray according to His Will (John 9 v 31b). In fact, only those who do His Will, are assured of not just answered prayers (1 John 5 v 14) but also an eternal life with Him (Matt 7 v 21; 1 Thes 4 v 3)

Love -

John 3 v 16; 1 Cor 13

1 John 4 v 19 - 21;

John 15 v 13 - 17

Under this topic, we learnt that Love is a deep affection towards someone or something, free from intention to hurt.

Love is the first fruit of God's spirit, and God Himself is Love. (Gal 5:22 and 1 John 4:8)

We learnt that Love is a command, not a choice! John 15 v 12. It is God’s greatest commandment to mankind (Matt 22:37-38). Also we emphasized that  anyone who claims to love God but does not love his/her brother, is a LIAR 1 John 4 v 20

Furthermore, we learnt different types of love, using greek words such Agape, Philia, Eros and Storge (APES)

Bridle  -

Taming the Tongue

(James 3: 9-2; Ps 141:3; James 1:26;

Prov 10:19  )

Under this topic, we learnt that a horse master wears bridle on the mouth of his horse, to achieve full control  of the horse's performance.

We went on an imaginary ride, assuming that we were horses and the Lord Jesus Himself was our horse rider, controlling and guarding all we say with the help of the Holy Spirit.

We learnt that the Lord delights in those who can speak boldly and courageously like Joshua, yet honestly, gracefully and courteously.
